Lilla Mae Beard, 92, a beautiful lady and devoted Christian, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, after a brief illness at her residence in Grapevine.
Funeral: She will be honored with a celebration of her life 1 p.m. Saturday, Grapevine Church of Christ, 525 Park Blvd. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, J.E. Foust Funeral Home, 523 Main St., Grapevine.

Memorials: Chimala Mission, c/o New York Ave Church of Christ, 5371 New York Ave., Arlington, Texas 76018.

Mrs. Beard was born Nov. 11, 1914, in Collinsville to A.E. and Elsie Grant. Her close relationship with God and her church family at Grapevine Church of Christ were evident in the way she lived her life. Her Christian influence will continue long after her lifetime. She was a precious and loving mother to seven children and a dedicated wife to Fred M. Beard for 56 years. He preceded her in death in 1991. For 20 years, she was an award-winning Avon representative. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Ken Beard, Fred D. Beard and Gary Beard.

Survivors: Her daughters, Gayle Driskill and husband, Larry, of Argyle, Martha Chadwick and husband, Leon, of Grapevine; daughter-in-law, Teresia Beard of North Richland Hills; sons, John Beard and wife, Sandy, of Whitewright, and Ron Beard of Killeen. She was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, whom she adored; they where the light of her life. Also surviving her are three sisters and a brother.
