Norma retired from Fairmont Emergency Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide. She enjoyed playing bingo and poker machines. Norma was Baptist by Faith.
Norma is survived by her two daughters, Jerri Cook and Deloris “Peachie” Sickles, both of Fairmont; her son, William “Buck” Barker and his wife, Linda of Fairmont; eleven grandchildren and spouses, Janet Rhinehart of Ohio, Pam and Brad Caughey of Ohio, Richard Cook and his fiancé , Tammy Shipley of Monongah, Shawna and Brian Cross of Westover, Bucky and Anetta Barker of Fairmont, Tony Barker of Fairmont, Stephanie Hatcher of Beckley, Travis Barker of Fairmont Carol Barker of Fairmont, Diana Cook of Fairmont and Brittany Barker of Fairmont; sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. Barker who died on June 6, 1986; her daughter, Bobbi D. Cowger in 2005; three brothers, John W. White, Tom F. White and Bill R. White, II; four sisters, Grace Fenney, Elenora Pastirak, Jane Spencer and Mary Ann Ganzy.
The Barker family would like to thank WV Caring Hospice, and the third-floor staff at Grafton City Hospital. Your guidance and kindness care made this journey much easier for our family.
Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, where services will be held at 1:00 pm with Pastor Charles MacDonald, officiating. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery in Farmington.
