Obituary:

Shirley Jean Brownlee of Salida, Colorado, went to be with her Lord and Savior May 5, 2019. She was born August 11th, 1939 in Canon City, Colorado to Joseph Russell and Doris Awanda Cunningham.
Shirley loved the outdoors hiking, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and anything to do with the mountains or Colorful Colorado. She worked at the mine located at Climax Molybdenum Company of Colorado as a keypunch operator. The majority of her life she worked for Public Service of Colorado in Leadville with husband: Charles T. Stovall (predeceased) and Salida, Colorado with husband: William Russell Brownlee (predeceased). She also served as a Brownie leader in Leadville and served on the Chamber of Commerce in Salida, Colorado. She raised her children Mark Stovall, Tina Jean Stovall-Culleton and Shirley Janine Stovall in Leadville, Colorado for a time, before moving them to Buena Vista, Colorado. She traveled to several countries with her daughter, Tina while her husband served active duty overseas at Rhein Main AB, Germany. She loved Holland’s tulips, everything about the Royal family In England, the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, and the Gondola rides in Venice. But, again those mountains captivated her in Austria and Switzerland with their magnificence that included waterfalls and glaciers. She also followed Tina to Kansas, Presque Isle, Maine, Lewiston, Maine, Port Charlotte, Florida and finally to San Antonio, Texas where she resided for nearly 10 years after retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents Doris and Russell Cunningham and two older brothers, Jack and Richard Cunningham. She is survived by her children Mark Stovall, Tina Jean Stovall-Culleton and Shirley Janine Stovall; grandchildren, Andrew (Mark’s), Paul, Brendon, Jordan and Katelynn, (Tina’s) Joshua, Jasmine, Jacob and Brent (Janine’s); great-grandchildren, Bryanna, Allyson (Paul’s), Tristan and Caydon (Brendon & Casey’s), Katelynn & Oliver expecting July 2019. Tristen (Joshua’s), Masin, Caiden, Tyler (Jasmine’s) and Isabel (Brent’s). She is also survived by her older brother, Bud Cunningham; step-mother, Mary Enyeart, her nieces and nephews and special cousins, Ray, Jan and Dave.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 10th at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Her final resting place will be Canon City, Colorado.

May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand
