Mrs. Lewellen died June 12, 2007, in a Graham nursing home.
She was born April 5, 1916, in Troup to the late Edmond Lee and Allie Mae Smith Carpenter. She moved from Kilgore to Troup in 1949, where she lived most of her life. She was a housewife and member of Troup Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Theodore E. Lewellen Sr. on Dec. 3, 1997; and sisters, Thelma Carson, Mary Scott, Virna Kemp, Prisillia An Garrett and Cora Griffin.
Survivors include son, Ted Lewellen, Graford; two granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
