She was born January 10, 1917 in Meade County, Kentucky the daughter of Robert Luther Allen and Essie Lee Bullock Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Henry Gonterman; a sister, Nancy Morris and a brother, Carl Edward Allen.
She is survived by three children, Peggy Mapes, John Gonterman and William Gonterman; two sisters, Della Chames and Betty Harvey; five brothers, Barney Allen, Robert Guy Allen, Alvin Allen, Jesse Allen and Richard Allen.
Funeral services were held at St. John Newman Catholic Church in Canton, Wayne County, Michigan.
