Woodrow Vincent Turner, 91, of Roanoke, our beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather went home to his Lord on Sunday evening June 10, 2007. He was born April 28, 1916 in Patrick County. He was joyfully reunited with his wife of 63 years, Mae Jamison Turner; his parents, Shady Lewis Turner and Lou Nancy Nolen Turner; his siblings, Guy A. Turner, Vernon H. Turner, Edith T. Akers, Eva T. Zentmeyer, Allene T. Powell; and infant daughter, Margaret. Mr. Turner retired from the Norfolk & Western Railroad in 1974 after almost 32 years of service and was a conductor on the Norfolk Division. He was also a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Vincent W. Turner and wife, Nancy Jane, of Collinsville; his daughter, Judy T. Fazio and husband, James, of Blue Ridge; his grandsons, Michael Wertz of Valley Forge Pa., Brian Turner and wife, Melissa, of Greensboro, N.C. and Steven Turner, serving in the United States Navy; one great-grandson, Joshua Matthew Turner; and one great granddaughter, Amber Nicole Scott, both of Greensboro. N.C.; his best friend, Bill Doss; and many nieces and nephews
