Elizabeth “Betty” Rogers Johnson, 84, of Douglas died Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. RJohnson and Rev. S Vernon officiating. Mrs. Johnson will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born on April 19, 1930 in Omega and was the daughter of Samuel Clayton Rogers and Bell Paul Rogers, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Johnson, who died in 2009; and a grandson, Joel Johnson, who died in 2011. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Douglas.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Deborah of Statesboro; one sister, Loveda of Jay, Florida; her 6 grandchildren and their spouses; and her 10 great-grandchildren.Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Nevils United Methodist Church Building Fund, 8632 Nevils Groveland Road, Statesboro, GA 30458.
