Mary Catherine Mitchell, PhD, age 76, of Hilliard, left us on Sunday, February 21, 2016. Born on November 5, 1939 to the late Roy and Clara Nealon. Kay graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in Phoenix, AZ in 1957, Received a BA from Arizona State University in 1961, MA at The Ohio State University in 1963 and PHD from Case Western Reserve in 1985. From her internship at University Hospital in 1961, Kay continued to serve OSU for the next 45 years in the Dept. of Human Nutrition, Retiring in 2006. Kay was an avid golfer, and supporter of Kappa Delta, TWIG, and the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, and a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church. Kay was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy, and is survived by her husband of 55 years, Irvin; sons, Douglas and Michael; daughters-in-law, Monica and Keesha; grandchildren, Erin, Molly, Colleen, Trey, Kendall, and Connor; and sister-in-law, Martha Jean Mitchell; and beloved sheltie, Abby. Friends may call 3:30-5 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday. Family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service.
