Sarah E. Newell

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka for Sarah E. Newell, 93, Des Moines, formerly of Topeka, who died Sunday, Dec. 17, 1995, at a hospital in Des Moines. She had a heart ailment.
She was born July 25, 1902, in Wayne County, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Sarah Ann Kint. She lived in Topeka and later in Indianola, Iowa, 18 years before she moved to Des Moines 30 years ago. She was a nurse’s aide.

Her husband, George Newell, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two brothers, Floyd Kint, Phoenix, and Lloyd Kint, Modesto, Calif., and a sister, Leola Phillips, Corydon, Iowa.

Mrs. Newell will lie in state from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
