Maxine Waddell Bobbitt, 69, of Winston-Salem, N.C., formerly of Independence, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, Winston-Salem.

She was born April 11, 1938, in Alleghany County, N.C. to Mack and Eva Sparks Waddell.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Richard Bobbitt of the home, five daughters and spouses, Jimmie Sue and Tony Davis of Walkertown, N.C., Eva Mae and Howard Jordan of Colorado Springs, Colo., Frances Vivian and Alan Foster of Balch Springs, Texas, Judy Carolyn and David Mooney of Kernersville, N.C. and Kitty Marie and Shawn Ezzell of Winston-Salem; four brothers and spouses, June and Anna Marie Waddell of Sparta, N.C., Dave and Carol Waddell of Laurel Springs, N.C., Jim and Shirley Waddell of Elizabeth City, N.C. and Wade and Charlotte Waddell of Kernersville; 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Independence with Bobby Jennings officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C., 27103.

Arrangements were by Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence.
