From Monmouth Democrat Freehold Mar 30 1848:
"DEATHS - Near Kettle Creek, on the 7th inst., Mr. Israel Gant at the advanced age of 79 years. On the 9th inst., Lucretia, consort of the above, aged 77 years. They were two of the oldest and most respectable citizens of the township of Dover. They have died as they lived - together."

Mother of nine surviving children.

(cemetery record has dates 1741-1818 - markers, quite worn, apparently were misread). Lucretia died two days after her husband.

"Consort of Israel Gant" (who was son of Israel Gant of Howell, Monmouth NJ d: 1826)
Ch include:
Richard, Mary, Margaret, John, Elizabeth, Sarah, Lucretia, Israel III, Esek, Zachariah J.

Nov 2010: Another photo volunteer took a close-up to try to verify the dates, this is what she sent: "I took closer photos of the inscriptions on Lucretia and Isreal's stones. They are both very difficult to read, but from feeling the stone, it seems that Lucretia's date of death is 1818." Based on death notice it is obviously 1848, not 1818, but this shows why there has been so much confusion re the dates.

Maiden name not proved, submitted as edit by another contributor.
