Predeceased by parents William H. and Vesta W. (Stamm) Brenneman, brother, William S. Brenneman, son, John Timblin, and two spouses: Earl V. Timblin (1964) and Charles C. Gotjen (2006).

Children: Louise Timblin Mills, Melanie Timblin, Terry Timblin, Robert Timblin, and stepson, Thomas Gotjen.

Following her 1934 graduation from Lincoln High in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, Esther worked in the offices for U.S. Steel and the Ellwood City Ledger. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the WELCA group. Esther was also a member of the Ellwood Women’s Club, Saxon Club and the Wurtemburg-Perry Fire Department Auxiliary .
