WILMA RAE GALINDO A native of Salt Lake City, UT, Wilma was born April 24, 1933 to William & Vivian Pearl Archibald, both descendants of Mormon pioneers who came in covered wagons and hand carts to settle in Utah. Wilma was moved by her ancestor's strength and dedication to their faith. Part of her life's work was dedicated to family genealogy. She was able to trace her father's family to 17th century Scotland. A wife, mother of 8, grandmother of 17, great-grandmother of 12 and great-great-grandmother of 2, Wilma was an obedient and loving servant of Jesus Christ and loved the Gospel. Rarely judging, always caring, she was a tower of strength to her family and touched everyone with her love. She spent much of her young life in San Francisco, a city she loved. Wilma was a spirited and loyal fan of the 49'ers and the Oakland A's. Wilma's loves included her extended family, including her "adopted" son Lester Chambers of the Chambers Bros. Band, his siblings and his mother Victoria Chambers, and "adopted" daughter Joann Vierra. She will be remembered with great love and awe by those that knew her well. Infants were enchanted by her and she delighted in them. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 26 years, Jesus "Larry" Galindo, daughters Charlotte "Suzy" and Patricia "Patsy" and a sister, Dolores Archibald. In addition to three degrees of grandchildren, she is survived by her daughters Linda Battensby and Vivian "Ruthy" (John Culp) Galindo; sons Larry Galindo, Angelo "Ray" (Sherry) Galindo, Gary Galindo, Daniel Galindo, and one brother, Franklin Archibald. Also left to mourn her passing are a host of cousins, nieces & nephews, loving friends and life-long family friend and Patriarch Lemuel K. Cutter. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. at HOLY ANGELS FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTER, 1051 Harder Rd., Hayward. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 13, 12:00 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints, Hayward 2nd Ward, 26101 Gadding Rd. Interment to follow at Mt. Eden Cemetery, Hayward, CA.
