Abbie Dee ("Babe") White was the daughter
of Young Collin ("Y. C.") White and Mamie L. Arnett. She married Russell Brockway Ledyard, son of Henry Robb ("Harry") Ledyard and Beryl
Grace Brockway, on June 18, 1939, Coolidge, Pinal County, Arizona. The couple had two children, a daughter and a son, both of whom are living.

executive director dies

Abbie Dee "Babe" Ledyard, 66, of 3515 Killeen [sic-Kileen], past executive director of the Girl Scout Council of Amarillo, died Saturday.
Services are pending with N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Ledyard served as director of the Girl Scouts here for 12 years before retiring. She also served as a Girl Scout volunteer for many years.
She was born in Hamlin and reared in Phoenix, Ariz., where her father once served as lieutenant governor of Arizona. She later moved to Coolidge, Colo [sic-Ariz]. She graduated from Stephen's College at Columbia, Mo., and from the University of Colorado.
She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority and was active in the Chi Omega alumni association, once serving as president of the club here. She was a member of the American Association of University Women.
Mrs. Ledyard was a former president of the
St. Anthony Hospital auxiliary and served
as a volunteer for that organization for many years.
She married Russell B. Ledyard in 1939 at Coolidge. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; a son, [living] of Beaumont; a daughter, [living] of Amarillo; two granddaughters and two grandsons."
