Melba “Micki” McBride April 4, 1929 to May 31, 2018 Melba “Micki” McBride, 89, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2018 at Serenity Healthcare, in Twin Falls, Idaho. In her final days our Mom was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Melba Alene Heaton on April 4, 1929 to Jess Willis Heaton and Helen May Evans in Arlington, Washington. Most of her adult life she was known as Micki. At the age of 3 her family moved to Bremerton, Washington and then to Lucerne when she was about 6. From then on, she lived in Idaho. She attended grade school in Buhl and High School in Twin Falls.

Mom’s first job was at “Log Cabin BBQ Car Hops”. That is where she met Blaine Coffin. They were married August 31, 1947. To this union was born 6 children. Benny Dale, Blaine Douglas, Gary Dennis, Julia Christine, Rulon Dutch and Shana Corinne. They lived in Pocatello during most of their marriage and in Elko, Nevada for a couple of years. They were divorced March 6, 1957.

Later, Mom met the love of her life, Donald McBride. They just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on March 17, 2018. They were also each other’s Best Friend. Together they enjoyed fishing, their camper, Mom’s dream trip to Holland, car excursions, hikes, fishing and more fishing. Don says Mom was always the better fisherman and that she would always get the bigger fish. She would clean and filet the fish and pressure cook them to be enjoyed with crackers.

This may be an understatement, but dare I say, our Mother was competitive. Mom was a wonderful cook, immaculate house keeper and always had the most beautiful yard and flower beds. Her embroidery and needle work were also very beautiful. The back side of her work were nearly as perfect as the front. Mom enjoyed crafting when not spending time outdoors. Mom was smart and witty. She and Don treated each other like royalty to the very end. They were always leaving love notes around their home to each other. We thank Don for the love and care he always gave our Mom and for the happiest 40 years of her life.

Preceding Micki in death are her Father and Mother, siblings Charlotte and Allen (twins), Robert, Jessie, Jay, Laurine (Laura’s twin) and David, children 2 infant sons Gary Dennis and Rulon Dutch, and 4 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be Monday, June 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park.

We would like to thank everyone at Serenity Healthcare for their loving care for our Mom, to Harrison’s Hope for their kindness and care, and to Reynolds Funeral Home for helping us make this a special memorial to our wife, mother, and grandmother.
