Charlotte Marie Wells, 77, of Terre Haute died Friday, June 8, 2007. She was born Feb. 3, 1930, in Terre Haute to India Crothers and Clinton Haynes. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wells.

Survivors include five sons, Donald Wells and wife Lee Ann, Kenneth Wells, Stephen Wells, Gary Wells and wife Judy, Louis Wells and wife Sherri; a son-in-law, Orville Tompkins; a daughter, Carolyn Jones and husband Andre; special friends, Janice Catlett and Jack Simmons; grandchildren, Sheri Jo, Cynthia, India and husband Jason, Jared, Kenneth Wells Jr., Aaron, Lindsay, Gary and wife Aimee, Alaysia, Angelita and Lacey, Steven, Mariah, Chandrea and Tiffany; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Beverly; a son, William; and a sister, Norma Jean.

She was a member of Israel of God's Church WHA.

Services are 1 p.m. Friday in Shiloh Baptist Church, 2401 Seventh Ave. Burial is in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. until services Friday in the church. Russell Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
