Richard Carlos McGraw Sr., age 91, of Stanaford, WV, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 8:15 AM at Hilltop Nursing Home.
Born on February 16, 1928 at McAlpin, WV, he was the son of the late Frank McGraw and Violet Warden McGraw Lewis.
Mr. McGraw was a US Navy WWII Veteran, and was retired from Corey Candy Company with 30 years of service.
He was a member of Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church and had made his home in Stanaford for most his life. Mr. McGraw was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was a man of faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 62 years Wilma Adams McGraw; by a daughter, Delores Ann McGraw, and by a son, Daniel Thomas McGraw.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his children, Barbara Thornley and husband George of Stanaford, Phyllis McGraw of Beckley, and Richard McGraw and wife Stephanie of Beckley. Grandchildren, Katie and her husband Brian Naughton, George Thornley II, Tyler McGraw and wife Sara, Todd McGraw, and Trey McGraw.
Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate the Life of Richard McGraw on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at noon at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with Pastor George Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Family members
will serve as pallbearers.
