A native of Clinchport, Virginia, son of the late Clyde Henry and Helen Carter Ramey, he was a retired employee of Great Lakes Steel and attended Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Sparks Ramey of the home; two daughters, Rebecca Ramey (Charles Poole) and Michelle Wilhelm (David) of Greer; three sisters, Patricia Zube of Mt. Clemons, Michigan, Virginia Hill of Woodhaven, Michigan and Theresa Ramey of Hollywood, Florida; four grandchildren, Joshua Baker, Devin Wilhelm, Desiree Wilhelm and Chaz Poole; and three great-grandchildren, Allisin Baker, Lorelai Baker and Eyan Ramey.
Mr. Ramey was predeceased by a son, Michael James Ramey and a brother, Ralph Ramey.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
