Fredrick “Fred” W. Broszeit, Jr. 88, of Frankville, IA, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, IA.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27th, at 10:00 AM at Frankville Presbyterian Church in Frankville, with Karla Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Frankville Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Fredrick "Fred" William Broszeit, Jr. was born May 8, 1930, in McGregor, IA, the son of Frederick "Fred" William and Agnes Cecila (Gilster) Broszeit, Sr. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church in National, IA, attended Beulah School District #7 and Waterville School through 8th grade.

On August 14, 1948, he married Dorothy Marie Nagel at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waukon, IA.

They farmed together in the Rossville and Frankville areas. Fred also worked road construction for Riley's in Ossian, IA. He owned and operated Fred's DX Gas Station in Frankville for many year’s where he did welding, over hauled engines, tire repair, and oil changes. Fred also mowed lawns for many years.

He was a member of Frankville Presbyterian Church and Frankville Volunteer Fire Department. Fred enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing, watching the birds, and taking car trips through out Northeast Iowa. He loved spending time with his family and visiting with friends.

Survivors include his children: Elaine Broszeit and Loren Broszeit both of Frankville, Joann (James) Duvel of Postville, IA, and Beverly Martin of West Union, IA; two grandchildren: Darcy (Kim) Broszeit of Wellman, IA, and James Broszeit of Frankville; five great-grandchildren: Carter and Ayden Broszeit, Reaghan Aggson, Raylin Miller, and Kohltin Broszeit.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dorothy who died in 2017; two sisters: Betty Jean Thornton and Leola Sawvell.

Honorary casketbearers are Fred's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Casketbearers are Ayden and Carter Broszeit, Dale, Jonathan, and Mike Martin, and Milo Thornton.
