Aaron, Yuba Native, Dies At Home – Charles Francis (Frank) Aaron, 77, a lifelong resident of Marysville, died last night at 9:55 o'clock after an illness of several months. He succumbed in his home at 710 D St., Marysville. – Born December 1, 1875, Aaron attended Marysville schools, picking up some dollars during his high school years delivering the Marysville Democrat by ponyback to its Yuba City subscribers. – Thereafter he attended Stanford University, having for a roommate during part of that time ex-President Herbert Hoover, and graduated in 1897 with an A.B. degree and a degree in electrical engineering. – Prior to graduation he had a position lined up with Yuba River Power Company, predecessor of the Pacific Gas & Electric Co., but by reason of the death of his father on April 27, 1897, he was called upon to abandon his chosen career of electrical engineering and to take over the interests of his father. – Hub Businessman: He bought into the Fuller and O'Brien real estate and insurance firm with offices in the Ellis building. Sometime later the remaining member of the firm, James K. O'Brien, former president of the Yuba-Sutter County Chamber of Commerce and so-called "Mayor of Smartville," retired and Aaron carried on the business alone until 1926, he took in as a partner the late John H. Fuller, son of the former Jesse B. Fuller, and conducted the business in partnership until Fuller's death in 1947. Since then Aaron has been associated with W. W. Burke and Leta Rucker in carrying on the real estate and insurance business. – One of the founders of the Yuba-Sutter Board of Fire Underwriters, Aaron throughout his career had been active in the scientific advancement of the insurance business. For many years he had been a member of the State Farm Committee and in that capacity had been one of the authors of the Standard Farm Forms now in use in this State. – Civic Affairs: Frank Aaron had played a quiet but active role in the political and financial development of Marysville. He was a former member of the city council, vice president and general manager of the Marysville Water Co., president of the Northern California Bank of Savings, president of he Marysville Hotel Co., and one of the founders as well as the president of Marysville Savings and Loan Association, a position from which he recently retired in favor of Martin Hector, former manager of the First Federal Savings and Loan Assn. of San Jose. – Aaron came from a pioneer Marysville family. His father, Frank W. H. Aaron, a native of England, always regretted the storm which kept his ship outside the Golden Gate until Jan. 2, 1850, thereby depriving him of the satisfaction of being a genuine ‘49er. Arriving in San Francisco, he answered an ad for an assayer by the late Dave Knight, donor to the City of Marysville of Knight Park, site of the high school and junior college, and shortly thereafter the elder Aaron settled in Marysville. – A number of years later he married Mary Musgrove Bobo, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles D. Bobo of Union Scot, Carolina. On Jan. 16, 1875, they purchased from William B. Latham Jr., the family home at 704 D St., and it was there the following December that Frank Aaron was born. – He married Bertha Cornforth on Dec. 2, 1903, and thereafter purchased the Rideout home and moved it to the lot adjoining the residence of his parents. Here he and his wife resided until her death in 1920, and there Frank Aaron continued to reside until his own death. - Neither he nor Mrs. Aaron left any known relatives, and it is thought that the bulk of his estate will go for charitable purposes. - Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Hutchison's Colonial chapel, Marysville, with Rev. Victor Hatfield, rector of St. John's Episcopal church officiating. Members of the Masonic Corinthian lodge will participate in the rites. - Entombment will be at the masoleum [sic] at the Yuba City cemetery. - Aaron had requested that those wishing to send remembrances may contribute to St. John's church Memorial fund or other worthy funds of their choice.
