A. J Purcell, 83, of Blaine, died 20 April 1977 at Bolivar County Hospital in Cleveland after an illness.
Funeral services will be at I John Baptist Church in Doddsville. Rev. C. W. Watson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Bea’s Century Funeral Home of Greenville has charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Clara Purcell of Blaine; and six daughters, Mrs. Clara Loving, Delois Purnell, Mrs. Ida Whitlock and Mrs. Ida B. Little, all of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Ada Mae Caples for Doddsville, and Mrs. Bessie L. Bikes of Detroit, Mich.
Also, four sons, Henry L. Purcell, Sammie Purcell and Walter Purcell, all of Chicago, and L. C. Purcell of Detroit, Mich..; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Garland of Calif.; a brother, J. C. Purcell of Calif; 27 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
