Biographical Notes:
In his death certificate, informed by his daughter Mabel Seargeant, his father is noted as John Flint native of Illinois. However, in the 1900 census, which is most likely informed by his wife, Mary, his father's place of birth is given as Connecticut, as it also in the 1910 census.
John W Flint married Mary Elizabeth Foreman June 2, 1870, in Yolo County, California, by a pastor of the M. E. Church in Woodland, California.
In the 1880 census of Patera Precinct of Santa Barbara County, he and Mary are listed with two children, H W (William Henry) age 9 born about 1871 in California, and Margaret age 2 born about 1878 in California.
The 1900 census of Arroyo Grande township of San Luis Obispo, shows the couple with 2 children, Ariel S (Ariel Stanley), a son born in May 1885 in California, and a daughter Mabel L, born in April 1888 in California.
After Mary's death in 1908, John is shown with the same two children in Redondo Beach, Los Angeles, California, in 1910.
John had moved in with his daughter Mabel and her husband, along with his son Ariel by January 1920, in the city of Los Angeles.
