Mrs. Helen Morgan Harbuck, age 97, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Perfect Care.

Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 18, from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery. Her grandson, Dr. Michael Harbuck, will officiate.

The family will receive friends following the funeral services at the cemetery, and at other times at the home of Carlene and Jim Peace, 520 Harrold Avenue.

Born August 13, 1920 in Augusta, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Marion Morgan and the late Mattie Irene Atkinson Morgan.

She graduated from Americus High School and attended Georgia Southwestern College.

Mrs. Harbuck was a retired tax examiner with the Treasury Department of the United States Government. She attended Lee Street United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, and later attended Cornerstone Church.

She enjoyed working with her flowers as long as she was able, and she was a strong Christian lady who loved her family and her Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Brown Harbuck; by her son, Donald Austin Harbuck; and by five siblings.

Survivors include her children: David Morgan Harbuck of Americus, Carlene H. Peace (Jim) of Americus, and Sharon H. Asher (Mike) of Bishop, GA; 10 grandchildren: Carl Popwell of Savannah, Ryan Popwell (Stacy) of Thomasville, Lindsey McPherson Evans (John) of Peachtree Corners, Michael Asher (Katie) of Athens, Josh Asher (Maggie) of Hickory, NC, Olivia Asher of Bogart, GA, Angel Phillips (Tony) of Bonaire, Darrell Harbuck of Americus, Brad Harbuck (Crystal) of Americus, and Michael Harbuck (Heidi) of Byron; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the 10 years of loving care provided at Perfect Care, as well as for the excellent care from Pruitt Hospice during the last 3 months.
