death: 15 Dec 1854 Penn Twp, St Joseph Co Indiana (if a family tree gives a date it seems Dec 15 is the date instead of Dec. 12) (Alpheus with his parents & siblings are recorded in the 1850 (Oct.8) Penn Twp., St Joseph Co. Indiana census (if you would like to include it on this site, it reads: Barton, John 47 NY (I see "caller" as his occupation-- I am sorry, I probably misread it; I do not know what a caller is; he was not listed as a farmer like most of his neighbors) , wife Delinda 43 NY, Alpheus 20 Ind "caller", Lucinda 17 Ind, Fanny 14 Ind, Wm 12 Ind, Malina(Melissa is correct) 7 Ind.) I know Mr Monk reported in his 2007 photo of Alpheus' tombstone that Alpheus died 12/12/1851 but your 2009 photo is more clear: please consider--to me, the stone may say died Dec 15, 1854 (am I wishing that or can you see that too? The 1854 death minus his 24 yrs of age at death would make him born abt 1830)
