West Pubnico – Mrs. Leontine d'Eon died suddenly here on Monday morning, March 31st, just before going out of Mass at the convent. She had received Holy Communion and did her thanksgiving, with some others, in the chapel, when she died. Father Comeau was in the chapel himself and he immediately administered the Last Rites. The deceased would have been 69 this month.
She leaves in mourning a son, Clayton of East Boston; three daughters, Viola, Regina and Mildred who lived with her; a brother, Victorien Surette and two sisters, Mrs. Armice Surette (Françoise) and Mrs. Louis H. d'Entremont (Nelsie, who is currently at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax), all of this village. Her husband, Jacob d'Eon, died 23 years ago.
The funeral was held Wednesday morning, Rev. Father Comeau, parish priest, officiant. The pallbearers were Wallace, Aldéric and Allan d'Eon, and Robert Surette.
Our sympathies to the family.
