ABBATELLO, JAMES James Abbatello, 91, of West Haven, husband of the late Geraldine "Gerry" Sullivan Abbatello, passed away at the Masonic Home in Wallingford on Friday February 11, 2011. Mother of Geraldine (Albert) Badamo and Robert (Renee) Abbatello. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons. Brother of Ruth Morris and the late Charles and Andrew Abbatello. He was born in New Haven March 12, 1919, son of the late James A. and Ruth Gruvstedt Abbatello. James was the 1989 Man of the Year for the West Haven Chamber of Commerce, Commissioner of the Boy Scouts for 17 years and was one of the original founders of the Shore Haven Baseball League. He served in the U. S. Air Force during WWII. The hours of visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home Monday morning at 8:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Victory Church at 9am. Interment with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Donations in his memory may be made to the Masonic Home & Hospital, PO Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.
