Led Orthodox Cathedral Choir

A conductor since 1950 of the choir of the American Russian Orthodox Cathedral in NYC, died at the Roosevelt Hospital. He was 77 years old and lived at 59 East Second Street.

Mr. Afonsky was born in Kiev, where he studied at the conservatory and directed the Kiev Military Chorus from 1915 to 1918. An emigre since 1919, he settled in Paris in 1922 as director of the choir of the Russian Cathedral there.
