A funeral mass for Rosilyn Brown Adams, 81, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 14, 2019, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Adams was born Jan. 11, 1938, the daughter of John Walter “Jake” Brown and Rose Martello Brown.
She attended Cathedral High School and worked for the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office until her retirement.
Rosilyn was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William Walter and Della Brown; maternal grandparents, Concetta Forte Martello and Vincent Martello; her parents; her husband, Clyde Richard Adams; one son, Joseph Patrick McIntosh; and one niece, Melissa Brown Holder.
Survivors include three children, James Walter McCarstle and partner, Kathryn McCabe of New Orleans; Fred Clifton McCarstle III and wife, Melanie, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Anna McCarstle Rodrigue and husband, Todd, of Lafayette, La.; three grandchildren, Caroline Hannah Rodrigue of New Orleans, Avery Rodrigue Jarrach and husband, Korey, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Grant William Rodrigue of Baton Rouge; two stepchildren, René Adams and Richard Adams, both of Natchez; one brother, Walter Brown and wife, Missy, of Natchez; one sister, Carolyn Brown Guckert of Raleigh, N.C.; her loving nieces and nephews, Walt Brown, Patrick Brown, Michael Brown, Matthew Brown, Hester Rose Brown, Wendy Negron and Leslie Neitzel.
Rosilyn was the matriarch and spirit of the Brown family and her extended family. Deeply proud of her family and community, she was profoundly loved by all. Rosilyn was a thoughtful and kind person who prioritized her relationships with family, former classmates and many friends in Natchez and elsewhere.
