Private services for Marjorie Shelby will be conducted.
Mrs. Shelby died Thursday, Sept. 28, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. She was 85.
She was born June 11, 1921, in Willits, to Ernest Rupe and Bessie Hall. She married Clarence Shelby on Nov. 7, 1943, in Carson City, Nev. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Apple Tree Gang. She enjoyed painting, music, and trips to Reno to gamble.
She is survived by her sons, Darrell Shelby of San Jose, Butch Shelby of Montana, Mike Shelby of Ione, and James Shelby of San Jose; daughter, Shirley LaBarbera of Nevada City, Trish Duncan of Nevada City, and Kathleen Kelly of Grass Valley; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Shelby.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Sierra View Mortuary in Marysville.
