Pearlie Ray Bryant of Blairsville, GA passed away on December 7, 2018. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Jane Gravely Bryant (who passed away only 17 days prior to his death) and by his mother Hazel Hearn Bryant and father Pearlie Manning Bryant.

Ray is survived by stepdaughters Sally Ritch (Billy Phillips) of Troutman, NC and Martha Ritch (Chris Moore) of Alpharetta, GA, grandchildren Ellen Phillips, Kevin Phillips, Neal Phillips, Ryan Moore, and Jonathan Moore.

Ray was born May 18, 1944 in Scotland Neck, NC. After graduating from high school, he served 3 years in the army from 1966-1969 and received a National Defense Service Medal. Following his military service, Ray studied music at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. He became an accomplished jazz guitarist and instructor and later became a successful real estate agent and broker. In Douglasville, GA he was the managing broker for Great West Realty and worked for Compton Realty before he and his wife opened Century 21 Bryant Realty office in 1987.

Ray and Jane moved to Blairsville to semi-retire and he continued to sell real estate, working for Prestige Builders and Jane Baer Realty.

The family will hold a private service.
