My brother's wife

She was the daughter of Lloyd Franklin and Fern Christine (Asplund) Corkhill. Lois graduated from Janesville Parker High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Rock County for one year. Lois married (my brother) on April 12, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was employed by General Motors from 1986 to 2000, when she retired due to a disability. Lois was a member of First Lutheran Church, Janesville, and served as a volunteer at the House of Mercy. Lois was enthusiastic about far-left politics and shared her point of view to the point of being obnoxious. She also enjoyed walking, hiking and biking before she was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. She and her husband liked to visit many lighthouses on the north shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. She liked collecting lighthouses and angels. Lois had a love of reading, which she shared with her children and grandchildren. She started a Bible study group and loved to karaoke hymns and songs of praise. Lois faced cancer with courage and faith. Surviving are her husband; her daughter; her son, Richard Vance; a sister; a brother; 4 grandchildren; niece and nephew; 2 aunts; an uncle; and several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Fern Corkhill; grandparents, William and Carrie Asplund; and uncles: Willard (Ethel) and Kenneth (Mary) Asplund and Jim McNeil.
