PALATKA - Harvey Rudolph "Chick" Pace, former popular young resident of Palatka, the later of Pomona, died yesterday morning in Conway, SC, where he had resided for some time past and where he had held a responsible position as assistant manager of a large mercantile establishment.
Some ten days ago he was taken sick and then double pneumonia setting in, his condition rapidly grew worse, and death resulted.
Mrs. Lizzie W. Middleton, mother of Mr. Pace, Mrs. W. H. Saunders, an aunt and Clyde and W. S. Middleton, Jr., brothers-in-law, all of Pomona, went to Conway upon receiving word of his serious condition.
The deceased was twenty-five years of age and was born in Marion, SC, where his parents still reside. While a resident of Palatka he married Miss Alleine Middleton of Pomona, a granddaughter of W. M. Williams, county registration officer.
Surviving are the widow, and three little children, a son, 6; a daughter, 4; and a son, 2 years of age.
Funeral arrangements are not known here, but the funeral will probably be held tomorrow at the old family home, Conway, SC.
