Born in Wittmann (Solothurn), Russia to Anton Schrievogel(1862-1920) and Rosalia Maier (1866-1923). Immigrated to the US with his wife, parents, and siblings on the SS Frankfurt arriving in Galveston, Texas on 7 Jan 1903.

Die Herzoger lists an older daughter Amelia Ann (29 Apr 1881-) but she does not appear on the passenger list. Jacob and this Anton lived in Ellis County, KS before moving to Colorado in about 1915.
