Dorothy Coy Dinsmore-McDougall spent her early years on a ranch in Climax until she entered high school and the family moved to Eagle Point. She attended the one room school house in Climax with her siblings, Thomas and Lucille. She was the daughter of Samuel F Coy and Ethel E Taylor. Her father would carry the mail from Climax west to Eagle Point and would herd his sheep for two days travel by wagon there as well. Her memories were fond ones of growing up in Climax.
