She was a graduate of Lindbloom Technical High School and received her Bachelor of Science from George Williams College, her Master of Arts from California State University, and her Master of Education from Georgia State University. She was a teacher and administrator in the Chicago, Illinois, and Compton, California, public school systems. Professor Crim was one of the original faculty members of Atlanta Metropolitan College where she taught physical education. She was a civic leader in Compton, California, and served on the Board of Directors of the Compton Civic Symphony Association and the Welfare Planning Council; and gave thousands of hours of service to the youth and families of Atlanta as a member of the Southwest District Metro Atlanta YMCA Board of Directors during almost two decades of service in the 1980s and 1990s, particularly as a leader of the Partners with Youth Campaign. She was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Honor Society for Women Educators. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Alonzo Crim their children, Timothy, Susan, and Sharon.
