Clemencia immigrated from Mexico during 1913 and settled in Texas, before moving to Luling, Texas after her husband died. She was the wife of Anastacio Gutierrez, and they had the following children, Gilbert (killed in action- WW II), Lupe, Estella, Alfredo, Helen, Mercedes and Criselda (served in the US Navy during WW II).
