Patsy Lawler Akin, 83, of Hubbard, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at home with her family by her side.
Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard with Rev. Ricky Woodall officiating.
She was born April 7, 1935, to parents Jack and Dera Lawler in Lockhart, Texas.
Patsy graduated from Polytechnic High School and received her Bachelor of Finance Degree from Texas Christian University with honors of Magna Cum Laude.
Patsy married the late James Akin in Fort Worth on June 2, 1951. They resided in Fort Worth for 39 years. She and James purchased land in 1975 where they would eventually build their retirement home. In 1992, Hubbard became their home, where she lived until her death.
Patsy is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Sue Akin of Evergreen, Colorado; son, Rick Akin of Irving; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Jose Cuevas of Hubbard; six grandchildren, Chris, Aaron, Jamie, Ryon, Katie and Matthew and five great-grandchildren, Rodie, Annabelle, Liam, Julia and Cody.
Pallbearers will be Rick Akin, Chris Akin, Ryon Gilmore, Rodie Olson, Liam Cuevas and Cody Akin.
