Claude E. "Tuck" "Blackie" Black, 85 Crawfordsville died 11:17 a.m. Sunday in St. Clare Medical Center.
Mr. Black worked at the Old Brick Yard, R.R. Donnelley, Blackford Construction, Carroll Conner Construction, State Highway Department, and the Journal Review.
His memberships included Veterans of Foreign Wars #1431 and the American Legion. He was a Darlington High School graduate.
He was born May 6, 1919 at Montgomery county to Elmer and Cerelda Als Black. He married Katherine Billingsley on July 31, 1970. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Claude A. (Katherine), Crawfordsville, Michael (Terri) Billingsley, Linden, and Joseph (Rachel) Billingsley, Shannondale, five daughters, Dianna (Ray) Mills, Karen (Jose) Stewart, Sandra (Rick) Busse, Kimberly (Scott) Billingsley, and Sylvia Lee Black, all of Crawfordsville. 30 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Two brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home, Burial will be in Oak Hill South Cemetery.
