Survivors include his mother, Christina Carney Toney; his father, Ira R. Toney Sr.; two brothers, Ira T. "Peanut" Toney II and Ira R. Toney Jr.; and his grandparents, George Carney, Henry Toney, Carry Toney Melancon and Joyce Hawthorne, all of New Orleans. A funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 2426 Louisa St. A wake will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. at Dorothy Lawless Mortuary, 3825 Washington Ave. Burial will be in Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Greensburg.
