Marquise Tre Carney-Toney died Sunday of undetermined causes at Research Medical Center of Kansas City. He was 4. He was born in New Orleans and lived in Kansas City for the past two years. Survivors include his mother, Christina Carney Toney; his father, Ira R. Toney Sr.; two brothers, Ira T. "Peanut" Toney II and Ira R. Toney Jr.; and his grandparents, George Carney, Henry Toney, Carry Toney Melancon and Joyce Hawthorne, all of New Orleans. A funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 2426 Louisa St. A wake will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. at Dorothy Lawless Mortuary, 3825 Washington Ave. Burial will be in Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Greensburg.
