LONE GROVE -- Services for Starling William "Snowball" Jordan, 98, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Morgan Ashworth and the Rev. Ben Shirley officiating. Interment will follow at Reck Cemetery, south of Wilson, under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.

Jordan was born July 22, 1901, at Albany, Texas, to Daniel A. and Mildred A. Jackson Jordan. He died May 31, 2000, in Ardmore.

He moved from Randlett, Texas, as a child, attended school at Revelee and lived near Wilson before moving to Zaneis in 1939. He was a farmer for 54 years. He was a former member of Zaneis Baptist Church and joined First Baptist Church after moving to Lone Grove in 1993. He and Clutchene Adell Tupin Oct. 16, 1926, in Ardmore. He was preceded in death by his wife, April 10, 2000; a son, A.J. on Nov. 7, 1987; brothers, Ambrose, Ira and A.J.; and sisters, Bertie Zapp, Jennie and Etta.

Survivors include three daughters, Mildred Williams, Lone Grove, LaJoyce Thompson, Healdton, and Brenda Myers, Ardmore; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be grandsons, Roy Williams, Eric Myers, Chris Potts, Terry, Gary and Duane Thompson. Honorary bearers are other grandsons.
