Little is known of his life, before marriage.
On Jan. 2, 1880 he was join in marriage with Clarrissa J. Westfall in Abeline, Dickinson, Kansas where they were farming. She was 15 years his senior. They had no children together.
They farmed in Kansas for a few years then moved to Nebraska where several of her brothers had all moved to from Ohio. Settling in Jefferson County.
In the photo of them taken in late 1890's or 1900, he looks to of had a stroke or some other health issue, since he died at only 52 years of age.

His mother passed away in 1865 at age 31, from childbirth, while living in Lafayette, Stark, Ill. With the last surname of Jackson. She had married Casimir Perry Jackson the year before her passing. This information was sent to me by Marcia Evans. It is unknown when his parents divorced. His mother is now linked to him.
