Bernice M. Palmer
WHEATLAND - Memorial services for Wheatland resident Bernice M. Palmer, 90, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Wheatland by the Rev. Les Ludlam. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.
She died Jan. 4, 2002, at her home.
She was born Oct. 1, 1911, in Gans, Okla., the daughter of Bradford and Cordelia (Guinn) Maupin; and was raised and educated in Gans. In 1929, she graduated from Gans High School.
On Oct. 6, 1931, she married Slayton Palmer in Heavener, Okla. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1969.
They moved to Denver in 1934. In October 2001, she left Denver and moved to Wheatland to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ernest "Roy" Wagner.
She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Survivors include the Wagners; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shirley Arnold, on Aug. 26, 1973; two sisters, and three brothers.
The family would appreciate memorials to Hospice of Platte County, P.O. Box 1025, Wheatland 82201.
