Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 12th, 2:30 p.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., for India Ramey, 96, who passed away in Sacramento. India was born March 14, 1911, in Leland Oregon, and she resided in Bakersfield for 47 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bakersfield Chapter 125 Order of Eastern Star, Bakersfield Emblem Club, and Bakersfield Community House. India was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Ramey; daughter, Marylee Pryor; and sons, Jack Ramey and Charles E. Ramey. She is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Twist, Sacramento and Judy Defino and husband, Carl, Bakersfield; grandchildren, Ricky Twist, Randy Twist and wife, Lisa, Ty Twist and wife, Lena, Rocky Twist, Sacramento, Ronda Fryer and husband, Lloyd, Karen Pryor, Natalie Mickelsen and husband, Eric, and Jennifer Parks and husband, Archie, Bakersfield; 12 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Jim Pryor, Ridgecrest; and a brother, Craig Boyatt, Colorado. She enjoyed traveling and contributing her expertise for the bazarr at Community House. She was a loving mother and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much and especially loved holding each new baby when it arrived. She will be dearly missed.
