STRATFORD - Funeral rites for P.J. Pronger Jr., 54, Sherman County rancher and a past president of the Panhandle Hereford Breeders Association, will be at 11 a.m. today, in the First Methodist Church here. Officiating will be the Rev. R.T. Dyess, pastor.

Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery under direction of Boxwell Bros. Funeral Directors.

Mr. Pronger died Wednesday afternoon in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo after a two-week illness.

He was born in Stratford. After graduating from Stratford High School he attended Panhandle A&M at Goodwell, Okla.

He returned to Stratford to join his father and uncle on one of the most famous Hereford breeding ranches in the Southwest and to carry on the tradition of encouraging young farmers and ranchers.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters, a son, his mother, a brother and three sisters.
