Lee B. Agard, of 6141 Willow Creek Rd, Ithaca, passed away in the peaceful and loving surroundings of his home and family on February 7, 2011 at the age of 65.
Born in Ithaca on March 25, 1945, Lee was the son of J. William and Marian Elizabeth (Larue) Agard. Growing up on the family farm, Lee had an appreciation for nature and the order of life. He worked tirelessly alongside his father and brother, John, in the operation of their dairy and crop farm before accepting a position with Lockheed Martin. Over the years Lee continued to help his family on the farm, when time permitted.
He looked forward to the memories made with his wife and their Spruce Row camping family and friends on retirement row. Card games and Friday evening gatherings were especially enjoyed with family and friends.
Following 22 years of dedicated service to Lockheed, Lee retired and returned to his love of farming. He worked closely with Stanley Koskinen in the operation of Koskinen Farms in Trumansburg for many years.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his wife Kathy on May 5, 2005. He is survived by one son, David (Amanda) of Lansing; one daughter, Stephanie (Joe) Teberio of Kingston, PA; one brother, John (JoAnn) of Trumansburg; one sister, Nan (Phil) Colvin of Trumansburg; one grandson, Nicholas Teberio; one grandchild on the way; four nieces, Patina (Bill) Janisko of Ithaca, Sarah (Mike) VanHeusen of Rochester, Tammy (Rick) Lopez of Danby, and Pamela (Robert) Lattin of King Ferry; one nephew, Scott Agard of Ithaca; two brothers-in-law, Rolland (Beatrice) Manley of Ithaca and Larry Manley of Spencer; one great-niece Lacey Lattin; and two great-nephews, Nikolas Lopez and Zachary Lattin; three step-granddaughters, Michelle Jaycott, and Courtney and Taylor Miller; cousins and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Trumansburg American Legion on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Enid Zollweg officiating.
