His first wife was Cynthia Gypson Barr. They were married Feb 06 1826 in Gibson, IN. They had 14 children. She died while giving birth to her twin sons, Charles A Allmon and Rufus Scott Allmon. The next day, her father John W Barr died from the loss of his twin grandsons and daughter.
His second wife was Mary S Roberts. They were married Nov 14 1850 in De Witt, IL. They had no children.
