ZEPHYRHILLS – Logan Clarence Peeples, 81, Zephyrhills, died Friday morning. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Zephyrhills, with the Rev. Steve Odom officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Memory Gardens. A native of Bowling Green, FL, he came here in 1932 from Wauchula, FL. He was a long time civic leader, grove owner and retired merchant from Peeples Super Market and Peeples Clothing & Shoes. He was one of the communities most loyal boosters. Mr. Peeples contributions and achievements in the community include: President of the Community Chest, Lifetime Director of the Chamber of Commerce & Florida Pioneer Museum, Director Emeritus of the Pasco County Fair Association, Director of the Bank of Zephyrhills (now Sun Trust Bank) for 20 years, Board Member of the East Pasco Medical Center Foundation, dedicated leader and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Zephyrhills, Member of the Lions Club and was involved with the Boy Scouts for many years. He is survived by his wife; Corinne E. Peeples; 1 son; Ernest Logan Peeples of Zephyrhills, 1 daughter; Barbara E. Camany of Zephyrhills; 4 grandchildren; Floyd Benjamin Kersey, III, Vonda Kay Peeples, Holly Lee Kersey and Ernest Logan Peeples, Jr.; great-grandchildren; Floyd Benjamin Kersey, IV and Elisa Anne Kersey and several nieces and nephews and other close relations. Friends may call from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Saturday (today) at the Richey-Richardson Chapel. Flowers will be graciously accepted or memorial donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
