Heart Attack Takes Life of Doc Dawson
Doc S. Dawson, 60, of 3300 NW 23, a city cafe and restaurant operator for the past 30 years, died Saturday night enroute to Mercy hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home. Services will be a 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Capitol Hill funeral home chapel. Place of burial will be announced later. Born April 26, 1897, in Blooming Grove, Texas, Dawson came to Oklahoma City in 1909. He had operated and owned various restaurants in Oklahoma City and until recently was the owner of The Marinet cafe, 3600 NW 23. He was a member of Capital Hill Christian church. Surviving are his son, Doyle E. Dawson, 1930 NW 15, a sister, Mrs. Maggie Farr, Del City and three grandchildren, Mrs. Donald L. Robertson, Glendale, Calif., Mrs. George R. Shilling, 301 Sterling, and Doyle E. Dawson, Jr., 1930 NW 15.
