Mrs. Louisa Lamb was born in Wayne Co, Indiana May 20th, 1829. Departed this life Oct. 29th, 1914 at Helvey Nebr., at the advanced age of 85 years, 5 months and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Lamb April 24th 1845. Mr. Lamb died December 31st, 1861. To this union was born seven children, five having preceeded (sic) her. Two daughter, Mrs. Alice Asire of South Bend, Indiana and Mrs. A. M. Gorham of Helvey, Nebraska and two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Caroline Caldwell of Swanton, Nebr., and Mrs. Hannah Morris of Fairbury, Neb., Rev. E. J. Lamb of Estes Park, Colorado and Albert Lamb of Swanton, Nebr., and numerous relatives and friends are left to mourn her loss. Mrs. Lamb had been in failing health for several months and on last Thursday morning at seven o'clock the end came when she qui e'y (sic) and peacefully passed away. She had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Gorham for years and all was done that living hands could do for a mother. She united with the church in early life and always lived a Christain (sic) life, was a loving mother and kind friend to all. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Spring Valley Church conducted by Rev. Charles Foster. Interment took place in the Fairbury cemetery.
