Gertrude A. Bartholomew "Grandma B" went to be with her Lord Wednesday, January 1, 2014. She was 103. Gertrude was born October 31, 1910 in Rugg, Michigan to Frank and Cora (Myatt) Clarady. She was a 1928 graduate of Evart High School and was a lifelong Evart area resident. Gertrude married Loren Bartholomew November 16, 1928 in Evart and he preceded her in death April 11, 1965. She worked at Orton's IGA for 27 years, first as a check out person then manager of the bakery. Mrs. Bartholomew was a charter member of Faith Bible Church and taught Sunday School for many, many years. She was an avid traveler who had traveled to many states and abroad. Mrs. Bartholomew is survived by 8 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters in law, Anna Jean and Louise, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Loren, 2 daughters and their husbands, Marilyn and Jerry Sherman and Coralie and Clyde Clark, and 6 brothers, Harold, Ralph, John, Donald, Lloyd, and Richard Clarady. Funeral services for Gertrude are 1:00pm Monday, January 6th at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart with Pastor Tim Ford officiating. Visitation will be 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm Sunday , January 5th at the funeral home. Internment will be in Sylvan Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Faith Bible Church. Gertrude's family would like to thank Susan, Dean, Jamie, Rob, Trish and Ron for the amazing care given to their grandma.
